Ventilation accessories are selected from the duct size, airflow direction, installation surface and exposure condition. Confirm the connection diameter and transition geometry first, then check material, louvre adjustment, insect protection, weather exposure, fixing method and access for cleaning. An accessory does not establish the fan duty point by itself.

Quick answer

Use a reducer when two duct diameters must connect, an adjustable grille when the outlet direction needs tuning, and an external stainless terminal where weather and corrosion exposure matter. Pre-embedded and soffit vents are installation-specific choices for clean integration into walls, ceilings or soffits.

Will a reducer change the fan performance?

It can. A reducer adds a transition loss and may change turbulence and noise. Include the transition in the pressure-loss estimate and confirm the final duty point.

What is the difference between a grille and an external terminal?

A grille usually finishes an indoor supply or exhaust opening. An external terminal is exposed to weather and often needs rain, insect and corrosion considerations.

How should accessory sizes be checked?

Measure the actual duct or wall opening and compare it with the product drawing. Nominal inch sizes do not guarantee identical inside dimensions across suppliers.

What should an accessory RFQ include?

Include duct diameter, airflow direction, installation surface, material, finish, weather or insect requirement, fixing detail, quantity and target market.
